Neighborhood
Deutschtown is a historic neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that was once the center of the city's German-speaking community. The neighborhood's history dates back to the mid-1800s, when it was largely farmland, but it developed between 1850 and 1920 as the city expanded eastward. The area was subdivided into residential lots for the growing population, which included German, Swiss, Austrian, and Croatian immigrants.
